Is
Reiki a form of massage?
No. Reiki is a healing technique shown to be effective in the
treatment of chronic and acute conditions. Conveyed through the practitioner,
universal life energy powerfully promotes balance among internal
systems and stimulates the regenerative processes of body and
mind. Reiki is not a massage, hypnosis or diagnostic technique.
What can I expect during a Reiki session?
Most patients receive Reiki while they lie on a table, fully
clothed. The Reiki practitioner places his or her hands
on or above your head, shoulders, back, chest, stomach
and limbs – or any specific area of injury or discomfort. Little
or no pressure is applied, and no oils are used.
The practice, subtle in appearance, produces profound
results: most people experience sensations of
deep calm and relaxation; some report tingling, pulsing
or powerful emotions.
Am I healthy enough to receive Reiki?
Yes. Reiki is a gentle art that draws on universal life energy
to benefit people of any age, and in any
state of health. Positive results have been reported
among cancer patients; pregnant and menopausal women; and
people suffering effects of injury, multiple sclerosis,
lupus and fibromyalgia.
